Checking Account Switch Kit

Switching your checking account to Fulda Area Credit Union doesn't have to be difficult. We have a Checking Account Switch Kit to help simplify the process. Please follow the steps below to guide you through the process of switching your checking account to Fulda Area Credit Union.

1. Open a Fulda Area Credit Union Checking Account - To meet your needs, we offer FREE checking and the following FREE services to complement your checking account: cuCash Visa® Debit Card, Online Banking, eStatements, Direct Deposit, Phone Banking.
  - Online Bill Pay (FACUpay) is also available at no cost provided you use it at least once every three (3) months. If not used once every three (3) months, a $6.50 monthly fee will apply. Click here for more information on Online Bill Pay (FACUpay).
2. Balance and discontinue use of your current checking account - Don't forget to leave enough money in your current checking account to cover any outstanding checks, debit card transactions, and automatic payments.

3. Switch your direct deposits to your Fulda Area Credit Union checking account - Switch all direct deposits you have by completing the Authorization to Change Direct Deposit form. (Please note: some employers may require you complete their Direct Deposit form and may not accept the Authorization to Change Direct Deposit Form provided by FACU.)
  - To change your social security direct deposits, visit www.ssa.gov/deposit/howtosign.htm or call 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) or come to any of our branches and we will assist you in completing the direct deposit form.

4. Switch your Automatic and Online Payments - switch all automatic payments/withdrawals you may have by contacting the company you are paying and giving them your new Fulda Area Credit Union checking account information.

5. Close your old account - Once all of the outstanding payments and deposits have cleared your old account and you are sure there will be no further activity, please fill out the Existing Account Closing form. This form will instruct your previous financial institution where to send any remaining balances.
